Houses climbing toward the Heights often have the kitchen at the back on the uphill side, with the unit backing onto an exterior wall built into the slope. That wall stays cool, which is good, but it also stays damp, and damp behind a condenser accelerates exactly the fin corrosion that reduces its capacity. Worth looking at when a unit that has never been touched suddenly cannot hold temperature.
