Sub-Zero Repair in Charlestown

Conversions with open kitchens
In a loft conversion the refrigeration is usually part of a wall of cabinetry with no visible grille at all — intake and exhaust are through a plinth or a concealed vent above. It looks superb and it is unforgiving: one blocked path and the condenser has no way to work. Where a unit in one of these apartments is running continuously, the first thing checked is whether it can breathe, before anything is attributed to the compressor.
The hill houses
Rowhouses on the slope have narrow kitchens, frequently on the ground floor at the back, and the same stair-and-turn constraint the rest of the peninsula has. Repairs are planned to be completed in place wherever the fault allows it.
Waterfront air
Being this close to the water shows up on condenser fins as a packed grey film rather than loose lint, and on exposed steel as early pitting. Neither is dramatic and both cost capacity. A proper condenser clean on a unit that has been running hard here is a repair in itself, not a courtesy.
