Jenn-Air built-in refrigeration is built on a widely used platform, which means the components that fail most often — evaporator fan motors, defrost heaters and bimetals, damper assemblies, ice maker modules — are current parts rather than superseded ones. In practice that shortens the gap between diagnosis and repair, and it is the reason a first visit finishes the job more often on these units than on some of the low-volume European brands.
The weakness: defrost and the ice that follows
The recurring fault on these is defrost. A heater or its bimetal fails, frost builds on the evaporator over a couple of weeks, airflow to the fresh-food compartment falls away, and the complaint arrives as "the fridge is warm but the freezer is fine". The tell is a freezer that sounds louder than usual, because the evaporator fan is beating against ice. That combination is worth mentioning on the phone — it decides what comes on the van.

Cabinet-front panels on these columns are heavy and the kitchens they sit in are narrow. A door that has dropped and is catching the run beside it is a common finding here and is usually adjustable rather than replaceable.
